Technical Director

An international construction company is looking for an experienced Technical Director to plan and supervise the execution of a wide range of construction projects in various industries. The ideal candidate would organize and oversee construction projects and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner. They will also oversee financial budgets, coordinate and supervise the construction process.


Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Supervising multiple construction projects simultaneously ensuring that project deliverables are met, and projects are completed within technical specifications, time and budgetary constraints;
  • Performing continuous risk management to minimize project risks;
  • Determining resource requirements (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations;
  • Planning all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met;
  • Implementing measures to improve the organization of work on the construction sites;
  • Coordinating a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results;
  • Securing all necessary construction permits and licenses;
  • Ensuring work is performed according to applicable laws and regulations;
  • Organizing execution of orders of inspection services, supervision and technical control;
  • Negotiating contracts with vendors and subcontractors;
  • Hiring contractors and other staff and assign responsibilities;
  • Supervising the work of employees and subcontractors and maximize productivity and give guidance when needed;
  • Coordinating internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects;
  • Overseeing and evaluating construction projects’ progress and providing detailed reports on timeline, project progress, cash flow, profitability and reconciliations;
  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation and ensuring appropriate documentation flow;
  • Ensuring strict adherence to all health and safety standards;
  • Improving worker productivity and ensuring compliance with building and safety codes
  • Coordinating work of technical preparation and implementation teams during bid process and on projects won;
  • Closing cooperation with other internal functions including technical preparation, implementation, procurement, design, legal and finance departments;
  • Responsibility for professional development of direct reports;
  • Improving work processes and information flow at the company;
  • Carrying out the instructions of the General Manager;


Requirements for this position:

  • Civil Engineering degree (MSc);
  • One or more of the following engineering licenses: Civil Engineering 310, 410;
  • 12+ years construction industry experience;
  • 8+ years project management experience in construction industry;
  • 3+ years in a similar role;
  • Knowledge on all current construction methodologies and procedures;
  • Previous participation in international construction projects is a distinctive advantage;
  • Extensive experience managing budgets for large scale construction projects;
  • Proven experience as construction project manager;
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes and equipment;
  • Commitment to quality and health and safety standards;
  • PMP or equivalent certification will be an advantage;
  • Serbian nationality;
  • Good command of English is a non-negotiable requirement;
  • Ability to clearly communicate in English both verbally and in writing;
  • Expert user of MS Office, AutoCAD, MS Project;
  • Category “B” driver’s license;
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills;
  • Ability to work well with a team with strong leadership abilities;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills;
  • Strong systematic problem-solving;
  • Proven ability to design, organize and manage work processes;
  • Interest in further professional development;
